Default What to do with weak one card strt/flush draws

A hand I was just playing made me post this question as it comes up pretty frequently. (6 max)
I had 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the BB with 4 players total.
Flop came 5 9 J all [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]'s.
UTG (very LP) bets and gets 2 callers. I have 7 to 1 to call but I've only got the little 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I called only to drop when a blank hit and it was raised when it got back to me.
What value do you put on one card strt/flush draws when drawing? Especially weak ones like this? Would I have been better off just to drop it on the flop?

Even in 6max, someone probably has a higher club. The fact that a passive player just bet into the field is more bad news. You are closing the action (..i think -- your narrative HH style is kind of hard to read), but i think you can fold here.

I think I drop that on the flop because of the two callers after the initial bettor, if they both fold and it's heads up then I would consider calling and dropping on the turn if I don't hit the flush, but with two callers after the inital bettor in that situation I would think you're almost always facing a higher club. three-suited flops scare people, and for three people to continue on doesn't bode well for your 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

It's really not worth investing even one bet here. Note that there is a huge difference between you having 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] with 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] on the board and just having one low flush card. You'd need to be getting a significant overlay to continue here, or have another strong draw.
