Default Opening with KJo

I'm a little curious how you guys play KJo.

In early position I usually dump it.

In middle position I might open limp with it, if the table has been passive.

In later middle position I will usually open raise with it.

In late position, of course I open raise.

Does this sound about right? Is open limping in MP a crime against humanity?

I'm gonna have to go ahead and say yes.

I like folding it early.

I think there are two pretty steadfast rules with KJo, and obeying them will make things a lot easier (and more profitable) for you:

1) Never call a raise with KJo, except maybe from the BB.
2) Never openlimp with KJo.

If you need elaboration on point 2, consider that two of the hands you're most afraid of (AJo & KQo) won't usually play against a raise. If you need elaboration on rule 1, consider that those exact same hands will openraise from any position.

Fold it from EP, openraise from the hijack on. MP1 & MP2 are iffy, depending on your own table image and the texture of the game.

I only open from EP if the table is tight.

I had same problem until I posted a hand with K/Jo where I limped preflop. I didn't think I played preflop wrong but everyone said I needed to raise preflop. I was MP and had limped PF. I now play it much more aggressivly preflop. Alway open raise. I fold EP. Never call a raise PF. Its a much easier hand to play when you riase PF.

I don't think I've limped in middle position with any hand over my last 75,000 hands.

What is your bb/100 over this time period and postion? What do you do with small pairs? Small pairs on a loose passive table when you are first in? Do you want to play these for 2 bets?

I used to do this but as you move up the limits and get good solid TAGS who will three bet you with AQo, KQs and 88, 99 etc because they no your playing style, when the flop comes rags and they play back at you, it is very difficult to play.

However i usually say if you are going to open, open with a raise. But i would dump it from early position, depending upon table, if its a tight table and people will fold AJ, KQo to raise then go and raise it up, KJo is a multiway pot player, well in my opinion
