hand 2: BB can be on a lot of hands here. He was getting almost 4 to 1 on his call. I'd say an ace is certainly possible, but not nearly automatic.

All in all, I think that BB has a very low chance of having an ace here

[/ QUOTE ]

Make up your mind.

Personally, I think the chance of a big stack in a Super holding A3o here is high enough to check with *any* pair.

What about suited or unsuited connectors, suited 1 or 2 gappers, small pp's looking for a set, KQo or KJo looking to hit the flop hard? Many more combinations than just Ax.

If he has any of those he has anywhere from 0-6 outs. I have no problem giving him as many as the full 6.

BTW, the other reason to check is that the short stack is going to push like 80% of the time.

You are probably behind in this hand, no doubt.

I believe you are much more likely to be behind short-stack than BB.

Given that you intend to call short-stacks push anyway, why not push yourself and maybe (<5%) get a better hand (JJ) to fold, but definitely get 2 hands that can outdraw you to fold?

Hand 1: I was pretty sure pushing was the only option and you guys verified that. I lost to AA.

Hand 2: I checked the flop, the turn was something like a 7, the big stack bet, and I folded. Ugh. Then later on my A5o all in ran into A5s and I flamed out

Thanks for the responses.

That was actually something I wanted to get to but didn't have time to respond with yesterday. The danger of the turn being checked thru then the big stack firing out a bet no matter what hits the turn. You have absolutely no idea where you stand at that point. I think he bought it and now I'm convinced more than ever that pushing is the right play IF you plan to call short-stack's push otherwise. No way I give big-stack credit for an ace that easily here.
