hand one thats a terrible turn card to try to raise on. you picked up a bunch of outs, why shut yourself out of hte pot esp if he has a better hand than you, or is bluffing you.

hand two is fine. i don't like raising this flop because as you said he bet into a large field. a set is hugely possible here.
