Default The \"Pro\'s\" Success Stories?

was wondering if any of the more successful posters i.e Raptor, Giga, ZeeJustin, Irie, etc. could tell us a little about their climb up the poker ladder. Im sure there are atleast 40-50 players that would qualify.

Basically, how long you've played (poker and SNG's), how long it took you at the various levels and how hard you studied the game before it became second nature. Any special tips would also be appreciated

I figure it might help posters such as myself that have moved up a few levels(myself, 33 and 55's from 6's) see how long and what steps it takes to make it as a true pimp of the SNG's.

Peace and thx

I know if you spend the time searching my old post you can find all that, as I have written it several times. I assume that is also true for the others.

ZEE, I thought you were older for some reason. Dude you are the man! Plain and simple. Do you think you have some natural talent for the game or do you credit most of your success to your study and focus on the game?

I bookmarked your website, it looks good. You just gained a fan and I will be sure to follow your career.

Reader's Digest version:

-started playing poker: 1988
-started reading about poker: 1988
-started winning at poker: c. 1994
-started playing poker every chance I could: 1994
-first final table in a multi with a buy in >$300: c. 1995
-first victory in a multi: 1997
-figured out omaha h/l was my best game: 1998
-started playing on-line: whenever Paradise Poker started
-thought internet poker was rigged: 1999-2002
-discovered 2+2 forum: c. 2000 (thanks Fossilman!)
-figured out I could earn good beer/vegas-run money by playing PLO-8 on partypoker: 2002
-discovered low variance of PLO-8 SNGs: 2003
-discovered multi-tabling NLHE SNGs was worth more $/hr than I could make playing omaha: 2004
-first WSOP cash: 2005

Irieguy

PS-I've made more progress with my poker earning rate in the last 12 months than I made in the prior 12 years... largely because of this forum. (Moving to Vegas didn't hurt, either.)

PPS- I'm not a "pro" because if I lost, I could still pay rent. That's a distinction that deserves mention, and the reason why I respect players like Lorinda, Lacky, SuitedSixes and Stupidsucker so much (to name only a few.)
