Re: 2/4 NL Call or Fold?
The pot seems to give you about 3:1
I think you need to call this, But I am expecting TJ here most of the time. Against tight opposition I am giving them credit for it. With deeper stacks I would be laying down as well. I think you very well could be drawing dead. Against an unknown I would lean towards calling... |

Re: 2/4 NL Call or Fold?
Not having any read at all on the guy makes this tough. What can he have that you beat? AQ? Very possible. AhKh, AhJh, Ah10h are all posibilities as well. What has you beat? AA, QQQ, J-10, a lower set, in short an awful lot. I'd suspect that it's J-10; for some reason lots of morons think a small raise from EP with J-10 suited is a good move. Even though I think you are probably beat here with 3-1 odds on the call and no read on your opponent I think you have to call here and hope you have him beat or you catch one of the remaining K's.

Re: 2/4 NL Call or Fold?
I think it would be difficult to put the opponent on a hand like AT, AJ, AK of hearts because a semi-bluff at this point is unlikely to succeed as pot-commited as the hero is (minus a read of course).

Re: 2/4 NL Call or Fold?
Fold.
Only hand I can see you beat is AQ or a semibluff like a flushdraw. If he likes to push with a flushdraw, i think he would bet out on the flop. AQ he would test with a bet or a raise of your $40 - not an all-in when you almost have to call. Whats left is a set or JT. The other indication is your potodds. They are so high that he can't expect you to fold and why then raise if not for value. He has you beat. 99 is my guess. |

Even though everyone is saying 3-1 on my call it was actually almost 4-1. I had no reads so i had to call.
He had AQ, river was no help and my hand was good. Thanks for all the responses. |

Re: 2/4 NL Call or Fold?
congrats on winning the hand. That does seem like an awful unorthodox way to play AQ, though. I guess you could say he way attempting to get fancy and represent TJ or some bigger hand, hoping he might fold a big pair if thats what you held, given that he had decided to call down anyway. Maybe thats giving him a bit too much credit, though. His play seems pretty bad, and he should have had every indication that he was beat, or at least tried to find out earlier in the hand.
