Default Couple of live 15/30 hands

I posted these in Mid-limit, but didn't get any replies, so I thought I'd try my luck here. Both are live 15/30.

HAND 1

UTG who seems a reasonably solid player open raises. I 3-bet in middle position with KK. Two cold callers (one is an autobetting fish, other is decent) and both blinds call (both loose players) and we take the flop six handed. Table is loose, but my raises have been getting some respect, so this is not typical.

Flop: J 8 x (rainbow)

UTG bets, I raise, everyone calls.

Turn is a blank. Checked to me I bet, everyone calls, UTG raises. My play?

HAND 2

Ad5d in SB. Fish limps in early position, OK player raises in middle position. 2 cold callers (neither seem good players), I call, BB calls, we take the flop 6 handed.

Flop: Q x x with two diamonds

check to the raiser, who bets, two callers, and I raise. It was intended to be a raise for value, but I've been screwing this up recently and tonight was no exception. 1 fold, preflop raiser three-bets, everyone else folds and I call.

Turn is an A.

Check-bet-call.

River is a 5.

My play?

Default Re: Couple of live 15/30 hands

I'll take a stab....

Hand 1:
UTG is probably holding a high pair - you said he's a reasonably solid player so he probably has AA,KK,QQ or JJ. You can probably rule out AA (he would have capped preflop and KK - odds are highly unlikely). So most likely he has QQ or JJ.

His check raise on the turn is a little scary - he may have a set of jacks, or he still may only have QQ.

I'd call here. I might consider raising to try to get heads up with UTG, but it looks like the other players are sticking around no matter what.

Hand 2:
After the river 5 hits, check raise'em.

Thanks for your answer. Yeah, I agree. When he check-raises me into a crowd of players it really looks like he's just trying to extract maximum value from a monster hand. I really can't see him check-raising QQ. The only possible hands I could put him on were JJ (likely) and AA (less likely).

That's what I did, but in retrospect I think its an awful play. His preflop raise coupled with his 3-bet preflop means he really likes his hand on the flop. So I'd say its either AA, AQ, KK or QQ, and of those I'm only ahead of KK. I think I'm better off just calling on this river, although maybe I'm seeing monsters under the bed.
