What about the blinds shooting up while the site was down? I don't think that is fair...

Lee,

I got donked outta my HU tournament because of the mental anguish caused by waiting an additional 15 minutes for it to finish. Can I have a refund?

There is no perfect solution in a case like this, however the speed of which the email arrived in my mailbox was great.

PokerStars Tournament #9110854, No Limit Hold'em
Super Satellite
Buy-In: $20.00/$2.00
737 players
Target Tournament #8865609 Buy-In: $530.00
Tournament started - 2005/06/26 - 14:30:00 (ET)

Dear TuristOnTilt,

Tournament #9110854 has been cancelled due to technical reasons.

When a tournament is cancelled before players are in the money, we refund
each player their tournament fee, and then divide up the prize pool based
on the following formula:

- 50% of the award pool distributed evenly between remaining players
- 50% of the award pool distributed proportionally according to the chip
count

At the time of cancellation there were 277 player remaining, and your chip
count was 8,772. Total chips in play were 2,338,000.

Prize pool to be divided equally: $46,760.00/2 = $23,380.00
Prize pool to be divided based on chip count: $46,760.00/2 = $23,380.00

Your share in money equally divided: $23,380.00/277 = $84.40
Your share based on chip count: $23,380.00 x (8,772/2,338,000) = $87.72
Your entry fee refunded: $2.00
Total money refunded to your account: $174.12

We apologize for the inconvenience.

The PokerStars Team
