Default AK push/fold?

From the few hands ive seen him play villain is pretty loose but fairly solid after the flop, so I was really unsure on this one.

Party Poker Pot-Limit Hold'em, $0.5 BB (10 handed) converter

saw flop|saw showdown

SB ($23.5)
BB ($127.25)
UTG ($30.95)
UTG+1 ($37.05)
UTG+2 ($25)
MP1 (Villain) ($142.43)
Hero ($21.75)
MP3 ($7.15)
CO ($23.75)
Button ($33.57)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG+2 posts a blind of $0.5.
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $0.50, UTG+2 (poster) checks, MP1 (Villain) calls $0.50, Hero raises to $3, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG+1 calls $2.50, UTG+2 calls $2.50, MP1 (Villain) calls $2.50.

Flop: ($12.75) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, Villain bets $12.15,

In a nutshell, is this an autopush, or is a fold in order based on my read of the villain as a solid post flop player.

Any advice appreciated,

Paul

push. i think folding is crazy. calling doesnt make a whole lot of sense because you only have $6 left.

Easy push. If he has a set or two pair, then so be it. There's no way to get away from this hand on such a pretty board (i.e. non-coordinated cards, rainbow) with AK and short stacks.

Now if the flop was A-Q-J, then it becomes a little harder to play with deeper stacks. But that's a different story.

I usually push with AK on a flop like that. A rainbow disconnected flop make your hand a very strong one. If he have a set or 2 pair you lose your money but he will more often have AJ,AQ and sometimes 65 (especially if he has read super system lol). It would be even easier to push if a flush was on board because people like to be aggressive with a draw. I dont know if Im right, but I nearly never fold TPTK in a big raised pot and a disconnected board with a 20 BB stack, and I win most of those all-in.

The short stacks and non threatening flop are the reasons why this is quite an easy push here. All the best

Why play AK if not to hit an A on a non-threatening board?

People will call all sorts of raises with any ace online. I just lost my stack yesterday when someone called my 6xBB raise with A7 and flopped trips.

<sarcasm>A7? Well were they at least suited? I mean c'mon, any suited A is worth playing for a 6x BB raise, right?</sarcasm>

I don't think that you made a bad play here. If the guy's playing junk like A7 for a raise, you'll have the best of it much more often than not. Shorts stacks, TPTK, I don't see any way that you could possibly get away from this. In the long run, you'll have the best of this situation more often than not, he'll lose that big stack in no time and you'll end up the +EV player.
