3-raise the flop to $22-ish. If called, I'm probably done.

problem with 3 betting this flop is this might be a set and hero might be ahead. but at least with that move or similar you will slow his set down, we hope. what happens if villain pushes there? now it's only 20 more dollars into an 80 dollar pot and villain might be on a set...?

what was the river action, btw? was there any betting?

My point was, that calling the re-raise on the flop is the worse option. Fold or raise, and I'm leaning towards raising. I guess your right about the set. Maybe you would have to pay his flush off if he pushed. I'm not sure though.

At the time i felt that villain probably had a set or maybe 2 pair because its very rare u see players on party play flopped flushes so fast and i thought if i put in the third raise i might scare him away.

i guess i felt that if i raised i might only get action from the flush but if i just called he would continue firing with hands i was ahead of.

make any sense or do i need to stick that third raise in cos i dont think im convinced yet.

cheers so far,

Paul

well if he has a set he's calling you so you might as well get the money in before another spade kills your action.

I like the line a lot and the only thing I would consider doing is pushing on the turn after his bet.

With party he could just be betting any of those pairs and high spade kicker...id rather get all my money in on the turn or river when there is a low to no chance of a spade hitting.

Also there is no chance of him not paying you with his set so dont worry about not getting paid with your straight. I like your passive line a lot on this board and his actions
