AT hand, pretty deep into tourney
well, had been raising quite a bit, so if he had pushed i might have called, but the smallreraise is always tough. but i felt i had to at least take a flop, and with top 2 or trips i go all the way. good fold on this flop? with no K on the flop i still fold, right?

Re: AT hand, pretty deep into tourney
I think you have the best hand here pretty often, but it is a difficult hand to play.
What were your reads on the villain? Would he be willing to reraise you with a lesser ace or KQs or something like that given your recent aggression? I often have problems with hands like this when I have had a run of good cards and my image appears to be very laggish. I don't think you can fold this from MP, and I might even play it the same way against a tight and very "textbook" player. Bottom line is are you willing to make a stand there with top pair, decent kicker, at such a critical point in the tournament? Very tough call that comes down to reads IMO. |
