pwnd?
what does "pwnd" mean? everyone always says it, but somehow i missed where it originated from...
i was playing a $10 game tonight, putting together a "teaching by example" hand history to email off, and two knuckleheads were at the table typing "pwnd" in the chat box whenever someone got beat. i'm guessing they were 2+2 (though, their play didn't indicate it) |

Re: pwnd?
Pwned = Owned. Probably originated from Counter-Strike.

Re: pwnd?
Being an internet gamer, I can tell you that "pwned" originated (obviously) from the word "owned".
How it became "pwned" is derived from the game "Quake", where some idiot typed "i pwned u" with a 'p' instead of an 'o' as a typo. For whatever reason, it stuck. |

Re: pwnd?
More likely to be 15 year old gamers than 2+2ers.

Re: pwnd?
It's incredible geek internet speak. The day I actually use it I'll close up shop on the real world permanently.

Re: pwnd?
The worst is when you start saying "pwned" in real life. I would know...I do.
