3/6 6m AQs
I played SH seriously last night for my first time in about three weeks; forgive me if this is simple.
Third hand at table and no previous read on villain. The BB is 65/32.5/1.19. The only hand I saw this SB play went as follows. MP open limped, I folded trash in my SB and the BB (who is the SB in this hand checked). The flop was A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and the BB check/called. The turn was A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and BB bet and was called. The river was 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and the BB bet and was called. He showed 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and his hand was good. PokerStars 3/6 Hold'em (6 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 3 folds, Hero raises, SB calls, BB 3-bets, Hero caps, SB calls, BB calls. Flop: (12 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB calls, BB calls. Turn: (7.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) SB bets, BB folds, Hero raises, SB calls. River: (11.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets, Hero Do I have a clear value raise here? Would you fold to a 3-bet? |

Re: 3/6 6m AQs
just call. if i raise i want to fold to a 3-bet but i don't have a good enough read on the SB to make that fold. you're also losing a significant portion of the time when your raise gets called.

Re: 3/6 6m AQs
1. You have seen SB play it loose up front, but aggressive all the way, and he bets for value relentlessly.
2. But this doesnt really matter, since you have all of 1 hand to make the read. So you're playing against an unknown. 3. When an unknown bets into me on the river after I've raised him on the turn (and at ever prior opportunity), I just call. You absolutely can't fold to a 3 bet against an unknown. |

Re: 3/6 6m AQs
Raise, call 3 bet. In my 3/6 6 max experience, donks are almost never indicative of a strong hand, and serial donkers hate 3 betting in general.
You're good here the vast majority of the time, and even when you're 3 bet you're good often enough to call. I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see him just call and show AA or something though. |

Re: 3/6 6m AQs
I just call here. With more info I would raise, but I don't feel good enough about this to fire one here.

Re: 3/6 6m AQs
QJ is very likely from his donkey ass. I just call.
If there's value in a raise, it's marginal, and probably depends on you being able to fold correctly to a 3-bet and not puke. |

Re: 3/6 6m AQs
I would raise here.
I'd say he is very capable of donkbetting the river with less than 2 pair given the read. I also disagree strongly with the fact that we lose a significant portion of the time we're called -- generally I feel like these types of opponents cannot let go of any piece. As for the 3bet, I don't think we have enough knowledge about his river 3betting habits to fold. |
