Have you ever been brought to tears by this game?
Or should I seek some mental therapy?
Isn;t it fun when your wage is negative $$. This month I am making -$16.75/HR. It's pretty nice, if I keep saving my wages I will be a million in debt by age 55, so i got that goin for me... Oh Jager, where are you? you sweet, sweet, licorice liquer. Out. |

Hey, I just dropped 1k in 20 minutes at 10/20 so I'm going to play some SNGs since apparently they have less variance.

Yeah, I have -- and for losing amounts of money that seem silly to me right now. I hope your wage "this month" means the 5 days of October we've had and not all of September.

Re: Have you ever been brought to tears by this game?
Last month, I had a negative ROI after 314 sng's. I ended the month with 667 and a 14% ROI and am doing good this month. Just remember that when you're gonna play potentially thousands of tournaments, 1 or 2 hundred is nothing let alone those bad runs of 20 or 30.

Re: Have you ever been brought to tears by this game?
I have been very VERY frustrated before. It feels like the cards are rigged, or your opponent knows they're behind but calls your push anyway, only to suck out on the river. I feel I should place in 90% of the tourneys I play.
Now back to reality. Some hands are 80/20 for a reason - you lose them 1/5 of the time. Very rarely do you flop the absolute nuts. This is something I've told myself again and again. I have learnt to smile at the bad beats. If luck wasn't involved, poker would be chess, and how boring/difficult would that be? I just fire up a new tourney and play the best I can. Tilting is catastrophic, and you may not even know you're doing it. For a winning player, it's all about volume. Now calm the [censored] down! |
