Default QQ faces push on low card flop

$50nl, 5 handed, stacks are:

SB $46.85
BB $16.60
Hero $55.25
CO $10.30
Button $55.45

Hero has Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

PRE-FLOP
Hero bets $2, 1 fold, Button calls $2, SB calls $1.75, BB calls $1.50.

pot is $8
FLOP 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
SB checks BB checks, Hero bets $7, Button folds, SB bets $44.85 and is all-in, BB folds,

Hero ????

Villain was 27/8/0.1 after 25 hands. Small sample size but tightness + postflop passivity + AI c/r = set rather than flush draw to me. Anyone like a call here? Also, should I have overbet the pot rather than slightly underbet it against 3 callers? I generally vary my c-bets between 60-90% of the pot so I try to provide cover with my made hands.

i like betting 8 or 9 on this flop.

check-raise is a shame, but you and me and he all know you have an overpair here, so he might be trying to capitalize with his set. (although if he was really good he wouldnt have checked it on this heart-y flop)

i dont know, maybe he has 8h9h. (in which case you would still be wise to fold.)

Thanks - I agree. I folded and started worrying afterwards that he was snapping off my c-bet with a flush draw or something, but that's just talking yourself into a bad call

I think this is a pretty easy fold. You're behind a set most the time here. You were the preflop raiser and you bet the flop strong and he still c/r you all-in. That's pretty strong. I think best case scenario is that you're against something like the nut flush draw in which case you're about 50/50. So I think more than half the time you're crushed and the rest of the time you're 50/50. Seems like an easy fold to me.

QQ is behind 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or am I missing something. Anyway you obviously can't be that specific in your read, but I cant see a player with these kind of stats doing this without a set.

I fold.

QQ is behind 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] but has odds to call against this hand. Therefore if we know the opponent has this hand, folding would be insane.

Based on that read you have an easy fold here.

He could easily have JJ, any T, a flush draw, OESD. You're in great shape against all of those and he could also have two pair which doesn't have you crushed. Besides, who plays a flopped set this way at $50 NL?

This is an insta-call.

He doesn't have a bare T. Have another look at his stats - this play is very read-dependent.

Any two pair has me crushed 3:1, when the pot is laying me 3:2.

Against an "average" NL50 player on whom I have no reads, I totally agree. Against a fairly tight player who has been very passive post-flop, nope.
