Default Set of 3s at NL400

I really dont like the way I played this hand.

I am very new to the tabe so unfortanetly not much of reads here more than MP seemed to have pretty loose calling requirements (dont know much about raising req.) preflop.

I almost always leads with my sets with a 3/4pot to PSB (esp. on action flops like this one) but took a different line here because I thought it was a great time to check it to let preflop raiser bet and putting everyone else between me and him. Good, bad?

Comments on flop turn and river is very appreciated.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, 4$ BB (6 max, 6 handed)

Hero ($434)
MP ($258)
CO ($359)

BB ($65)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $2.

BB checks, Hero checks, MP checks, CO checks.

Turn: ($62) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $45, MP folds, CO raises to $150, BB folds, Hero calls $105.

River: ($362) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)

I can't see folding this river.

Loose raise calling requirements generally means at least semi-loose raising requirements, which puts two-pair in his range quite often.

I think if u called that turn you HAVE to call this river.

I think 99.9% of new posters should stop using this argument for every single hand.

Agrees, because every street is lika new bet and you have to make the best decicion. Just because you make a mistake on a street you dont have to make a new mistake on the next.

What do you think about the hand -skeme-, you often has good points..

I liked your fold, although the whole "you can't disguise the strength of your hand and then fold to aggression" point was pretty on point. I'm just convinced that I am beat here.. there are lots of 2 pair hands that Villain could've made, but I doubt he plays them this hard unless he just sucks. There are also 5 higher sets, 2 of which are pretty likely IMO, and the straight got there as well.

I think the fold is fine, but 2+2ers never fold anything that I'd fold.

It's not a matter of mistakes. It's a matter of odds and racionality.

The river changes pratically nothing on the hand. It makes a flush possible but it's unlikely that he has this flush.

If u called the turn thinking he is on some kind of bluff or semi-bluff. OR he could have some two pair hand. Well, on the river he still can have this hands. The only draw that complete is the spades flush and for me is unlikely that he has this.

I agree that this is a difficult decision on the turn. It depends on opponent. If you think he is a donk that may overplay his two pair hands on THIS board. You push. If opponents is solid, this raise on turn means a VERY GOOD hand on this board. Made straight or one of top sets (slowplayed, not so solid hehe). Then you fold the turn. I don't think semi-bluffing is a good move for a thinking player on this board on the turn.

That's what i thought of the hand.

He has to hit a piece to continuation-bet this flop. Look at all of the hands that can call!

Bet the flop.
