Default 7 Stud Tournament Win

It is my 1st descent MTT (368 registered) win even though I consider myself a hold'em player primarily. I have to admit, I read Poker Essays by what's-his-name today. The essay titled Common 7 Stud Errors. I tried to make as few of them as possible, and employed some of my hold'em experience when it came down to the final few players. I just had to acknowledge Mr. Malmuth and thank him for his assistance in this matter. It would not have happened had I not used advice learned from yours and David Sklansky, and Ray Zee's publications. My appreciation for taking the time and energy to promote the education of those who have a passion for this game.

That particular Malmuth essay is ABSOLUTELY MUST READING for stud players. I still refer back to it on occasion and it is good leak plugger.

Nice win.

One of the Poker Essays Books. I forget which and am at work now so can't check. All three of those books are highly recommended (imo).

After reading this thread I grabbed poker essays off my bookshelf and read that essay again. Thanks for bringing it up. I need to get on amazon and order Vols. 2 and 3.

It's in the Strategic Ideas section of Poker Essays (1st one). I still have 2 and 3 to read; maybe I'll win a lowball tournament next. So much for my conversion to No-Limit Hold'em specialist.

There's a lesson about diversifying your game in here somewhere......
