Blind stealing / Valuing cards from Button

Alright, I thought about this a while. Is it better to call a 3-bet from the button with every card you raise with when only against blinds.

e.g.
Hero open-raises, SB folds, BB raises, Hero calls.

If we do this our hand range is very large, which means that we can have AA or we could have K-5s. If we cap with JJ-->AA then our hands we steal with lose value and our hands we cap with are better defined.

Is the value lost by not capping gained by the fact our hand range is now a lot more vague, e.g. we get paid off better because they can't put us on a hand.

This is hugely opponent dependent. Only do these kinds of plays (calling a 3-bet) versus a thinking and/or tricky player. I think you lose way too much value against a typical player by not capping those premium hands.

I was thinking about this aswell, but then it makes your blind steals look really terrible when you don't cap?

not really, if villain thinks you cap light and you dont cap theres still no flop you cant conceivably have hit hard

This is the correct answer. Against thinking and tricky players cap with some hands you shouldn't, just call with some you should cap. Switch it around from time to time. But when playing against poor players, hammer down your good hands and just call your mediocre ones.
