I did this too with FSU players. They are deep everywhere exept no TEs and only Brad Johnson and Weinke as QBs and Zack Crockett as FB.

What are you talking about, every one of FSUs defensive players are in the NFL exept 2, and the 2 not in the NFL now were for 2 or 3 years.

That Florida team was basically no different the next year. The spread was an amazingly low 3 points. Many, many experts thought Florida was a juggernaut that would expose Nebraska with their "team speed advantage".

The results I'm talking about is how Nebraska beat everyone that year by 30 points, while FSU had several difficult wins en route to their perfect season. They came nowhere near to dominating the way the Huskers did.

Anquan Boldin WR - Touched the ball less than 15 times in 99.

Talman Gardner WR - See above. Still hasn't done [censored] in the NFL.

Marvin Minnis WR - 19 catches in 99. Huge bust.

Chris Weinke QB - Career 5.4 yards per attempt, 12 TD, 24 Turnovers.

Travis Minor RB - Good change of pace back.

Brett Williams T - 5 games started.

Montrae Holland G - Decent OL.

Jamal Reynolds DE - 3 sacks in 4 years

Corey Simon DT - Fat overrated piece of crap.

Roland Seymore DE - Not in the NFL anymore.

Alonzo Jackson DE - 9 tackles in 3 years.

Tommy Polley OLB - Starting OLB for the Ravens

Bradley Jennings MLB - Not in the NFL anymore.

Brian Allen OLB - See above

Mario Edwards CB - Hasn't played at all this year.

Tay Cody CB - Out of the league

Chris Hope FS - Starting FS for the Steelers

Derrick Gibson SS - Limited playing time as a Raider

Sebastian Janikowski K - Overrated kicker

Everybody knows that the best Florida State team was 1993. I'd say there were about four other FSU teams that didn't win national titles that were better than the 1999 team. 1999 Florida State is one of the worst national champs since the debacle in 1990.

99 FSU's defense is one of the worst defenses at fsu in the last 10 years. That team was an offensive juggernaut with great special teams play (i.e. Janikowski, probably the greatest college kicker ever -- without him they lose 1 or 2 games). There defense while talented, was only above average, as evidenced by their inability to stop one freshman qb in the title game, that they had a month to gameplan for, kill them for 3+ quarters.

I also love how this is a thread about the "greatest ncaa fb team," yet all these people are fixated on the nfl draft instead of the results on the field of the particular season in question. The Nebraska, Miami, FSU, Tennesee, and Florida teams all had boatloads of players who were drafted and are/were playing on Sundays. tOSU had mulitple teams with more talent when Cooper was there, than the season they actually won the title. Does that mean the 02 tOSU is worse than these teams?

Also, being great in college doesn't necessarily translate to greatness in the NFL. For example, the best player on any of these teams, Tommie Frazier, who is generally regarded as one of the top 10 players in college football history (and the only won who didn't win the heisman), didn't get drafted, because he wasn't a pro-style qb and had reoccurring blood clots which ended his pro career.

I was simply refuting his ridiculous point that 99 FSU was the best because of their players in the NFL. It was a dumb measure and even by his measure 99 FSU was clearly not the ebst team.
