Re: Stop and go with KK
[ QUOTE ]
You're getting every single hand you beat to fold. [/ QUOTE ] There are two options here: you're betting first or check-folding. Check-raising is throwing money away (you'll face AX here more often than KK-TT/KQs), and check-calling entices him to bet again on the turn or river if he doesn't have it. If he DOES have it, you're paying like an ATM. Betting 2/3 the pot also saves you from him betting more when you check (which you wouldn't be able to call). The only way this hand is profitable from this position is to bet and see if he's also scared of the ace. He calls, and you're done with the hand. I bet 50% of the time here against an unknown, and check-fold 50% of the time. [ QUOTE ] Doomslice: Check-call one bet and see what happens on the turn, or check-raise to extract a bit of value from QQ JJ. [/ QUOTE ] No offense, but this is absolutely ridiculous. You're saying that you can distinguish QQ/JJ from AA/AK based on a re-raise preflop and an auto-bet on the flop from an unknown? Whatever. The paltry amount you win from QQ/JJ doesn't come close to what you lose when you are facing an ace. Fistdantilus |

Re: Stop and go with KK
Any hand trying to force out a better one would bet when checked to on this flop. KK trying to get out AJ/AQ, TT trying to oust anything, etc. The only hands that don't have to worry in this spot are AK/AA, and you'll see a lot of hands stab at this pot when checked to on this flop.

KK trying to get out AJ/AQ, TT trying to oust anything, [/ QUOTE ] so your two answers are TT (which usually won't 3-bet a utg raiser) and the other KK? hmm, convincing. |

Re: Stop and go with KK
I'm saying that the only thing that betting out here does is prevent QQ and JJ from stabbing at the pot. If I had played the hand I would have check-raised and shut down if called and fold if reraised.
