Default AK with ace but board is scary.

Hero has AK UTG
$600NL 6max
Opponenets are LAGs

Hero limps (they are raising almost every pot let them do it for me).

UTG+1 limps, CO limps, SB limps, BB raises to $36, hero calls, everyone else folds.

Flop: As, Qh, 8s
BB bets pot, Hero calls.

Turn: 9h
VIlliant bets 3/4 pot, hero ???

I beat AJ, AT. I tie AK. I lose to AQ, A8, A9, 99, 88, QQ, AA. I face draws if I'm ahead.

I call and pot the river if I'm checked to. Else I call I pretty decent sized river bet.

Why bet the river?

My read on this guy is that he is comming with at least an ace, and my guess is at least AJ or better.

I think you are chopping here a high% of the time, or are these players also LAG out of the blinds? Agasint normal opposition I think I might loose this on the turn. I don't think any sane villain commits this many chips on the turn with AJ or less unless he thinks you are really weak (that you are weak, not necesseraly your hand)

I always figure when they are betting like that , that they definitely have top pair on board beat. I put him on QQ, because of the preflop raise. It's a great board for him to raise into because of the A....that's you.
One of my rules is : If you can't quite figure out what's going on, you are usually beat."
How'd it work out?

I'm probably not qualified to comment here, but I think if you're going to limp-call with AK, you have to call him here. He may well have AQ or QQ or AA, but he could also have AJ or AT or AK or KK or something. He PFR'd and bet flop and turn when checked to on a drawy board against a limp-caller. To me, this doesn't need to show anything more than TPGK. How does he view your preflop play? If he sees you as "standard," he's probably putting you on a spade draw or JT for the double-gutter.

I would be happier raising the flop and folding to a push than calling down.

It may sound weird but I often throw a min-raise on the turn in the intention of checking it back on the river there, as he could be on a draw or a weaker Ace and will call down with them and reraise the better hands. I think you gain more when ahead and lose less when behind than if you just call the bet and try to decide what to do if he bet again on the river when he could easely have outdrawn you.

I felt that I could trap him into betting into me with a weaker ace while I had posistion. However, all of the weaker aces are looking more like two pairs.
