Re: anyone here consistently beat online blackjack?
[ QUOTE ]
I think there are some situations where you can get +EV online blackjack games, outside bonuses. I know some Boss media skins use to have a one deck +EV blackjack not sure if they still do. Also I believe some sites have multi player blackjack where the deck is not shuffled after every hand, allowing some card counting. Just watch the game until a favourable deck turns up, then jump in and play a hand. (Alternately get a job making sure newly painted walls dry correctly.) If my memory serves me correctly Playtech used to have a version of Blackjack (Switch I think) that when combined with the player cash back was +EV. I have not done much casino whoring recently so might be out of date. [/ QUOTE ] This doesn't seem possible. |

I'm not sure what you're responding to Sponger, but Boss Media does indeed offer BJ with a player edge:

Re: anyone here consistently beat online blackjack?
i suspect that if you REALLY could play with an advantage there that the site would probably notice this at some point.
The site might then claim that you are not playing recreationally or just for 'entertainment' but rahter 'professionally. They could use this as an excuse to bar you from playing there again and/or not give you your winnings. This has happened with blackjack bonus 'abusers' (as they like to call them) and would be not unlike what live casinos do to 'protect' themselves against counters. In other words - not a good idea. Giving the casino YOU money and then sitting there all day long and taking THEIR money just spells disaster in my book. doesn't matter that 'these are their rules' and it's the way 'THEY are setting it up'. It's their freaking game...they have YOUR money...and they detest professionals who take it seriously and can play a +EV game with a passion. To answer your other questions....your bankroll would have to be about 300 max-bets. I didn't look at the site...but if it's single-deck with adequate penetration and okay rules than a 1:4 spread should be adequate to beat it. If it's a 6-deck shoe then you would want to employ a 1:15 or 1:20 spread. Obviously there are lots of books out there on how to count cards and when to correctly ramp-up your bet. Professional Blackjack by Stanford Wong has some good tables. Knock-out blackjack (forget the author) is a decent starting place as well. But obviously I am voting a big NAY on actually trying this. |

[/ QUOTE ] Any BJ geniuses know what your bankroll has to be with this edge? How big can you bet? and what is my earn/hr if I am betting the max? [/ QUOTE ] Your are testing my horrible memory but I'll give it a shot. As I recall Stratosphere had a game with a player edge. Split and re-split, double after split, hit aces after split, early surrender and dealer stands on soft 17. Early surrender was what put it over the top. Anyway, I think the player edge was .25. On the faster sites I can play 5 or 600 hands per hour so calculate accordingly. Blackjack bankroll requirement recommendations have always been far higher than poker- maybe something like $10,000 if you were going to spread your bets between $5 and $40. In this case, however, you likely won't be getting the deck penetration that you would in a casino. Then again, counting won't apply here. You would just be flatbetting and hoping the numbers bear out accordingly. Once again, sorry if I'm mistaken about any of this. It's been six or seven years since my Blackjack knowledge was fresh. I am sure of one thing, though. If you have any aversion to variance BJ is far more cruel than poker. |

[/ QUOTE ] Probably the easiest way to get started. A nice, simple, unbalanced counting sytem that you can learn in an afternoon. I sure wish I had read this book before wasting time learning the Uston APC (which I never successfully employed). |
