Default Get The Led Out-Tribute to Bonzo

It's been ~25 years since the death of the great Zeppelin drummer John Henry Bonham, The Beast, the Hammer of the Gods. Here's my tribute to him, along with a little playlist of Zeppelin songs that showcase his powerful drumming.

Enjoy!

From Wiki:
His work behind the drum kit has influenced nearly every hard rock and heavy metal drummer since. Bonham's signature style was a steady rhythmic beat that swung with enormous amounts of feel, explosive fills, and a unique use of inverted rhythm often executed between his bass and snare drums. All this combined with his sheer attack made Bonham immediately recognisable to the listener. That trademark sound has become famous among fans and musicians alike and was one of the defining elements that propelled Led Zeppelin musically and commercially. Bonham to this day is held as the defining rock drummer. Many now recognise Bonham as one of the greatest drummers of all genres.

I'm not a drummer, and I sort of have a hard time telling the difference between a good drummer and a great drummer. but bonham was simply amazing. achilles' last stand is one of page's greatest moments, but I personally feel that bonham totally overshadows him in that song.

Unlike The Who, Zeppelin had the good sense to disband once their fantastic drummer died.

Oh, ha ha, it is.

Hahahaha. I have that on vinyl somewhere, probably in my storage. Not very good but still worth keeping somehow.
