You need to get a new shirt and some Douche-Bag-Be-Gone with the money though...

Huh? What's wrong with my shirt? And why am I a douche bag?

I think it's the arrogance you express in your brusque beer-swigging.. But, hey! I'd have the same drunken-zen confidence and ego with a stack like that. Don't take offense, because I'm joking in the first sentence.

I think he's just jealous of that tower. Probably the shirt, too. He's made you into a whiter version of Josh Arieh in his mind or something.

We did a quick attempt with the egypians.
We started with the plaques, then octagons, then rounds.
I have 55 plaques, but surprisingly, they didn't provids as stable base as we'd expected.

The tallest stack we got was 105 octagons, with 180 rounds on top of that, for a total of 295 egyptians. We didn't pursue it farther, since 400 seemed out of reach.

Ten
The problem with the dice is not that they are too slick; it's that when born they are given that little trough about 4mm off the edge. Thanks to this; they aren't as 'flat' as they would appear and the actual surface area making contact is much less than you would suspect. The ‘slickest’ chips stacked are the cheap mono-color clay chips. Those reached a height of 380 with ease.

When stacking chips in front of you at the table, your coefficient of friction between chips may be a deciding factor. (Mainly when the table shakes are you knock them over reaching in the pot). When you have 300 chips on top of each other this is heavily minimized. Enough so that it really becomes a moot point. Any chip stack that high will fall if you bump it the wrong way. (Read: At All)
What you're looking for is how much of the outer chip is making contact. The reason that the BJs seem to stack well is with their label on the inside, the outer rim is where all of the weight rests!

I may give it another go tonight or tomorrow..

I have one of my nerdy OCD-type friends over who will be able to point out any errors I make in stacking. We'll see how things go.
