Default Nice job, Bally\'s LV!

My folks are on their way (they may have already arrived) at Bally's in Las Vegas, since my stepfather wants to get his last trip in at the Boardwalk before they shut it down.

I think they have a comped room at Bally's. Anyway, I call the hotel up, so I can order a fruit/cheese basket for their room- they like to save some meal money for gambling more- as I've done at other casinos in the past.

After some hassle going back and forth between Reservations and Room Service (this, after the Concierge service phone hung up on me after a dozen rings), which requires several phone calls on my part- because their name is spelled wrong in the system- I finally get to the point of starting to order.

Now, since RS was in such a rush to get my CC information before my order, I asked what options there were. It turns out that they have only ONE option- a basket with 2 apples, 2 oranges, 2 bananas and some grapes. That's it, no other options.

The cost? $30+ (after taxes, tip, and so on)!!

Four dollars per piece of fruit?!? What, there was a run on the buffet downstairs and they had to air-ship extra fruit in from Mexico?

I cut that order off and decided to bag it- their trip was too short to consider waiting for a local delivery service to get something to them, AT A MUCH CHEAPER PER-PIECE COST, on the next day.

Sorry, just complaining... while crossing Bally's off my list of casinos.
