Tricky blind posting question.

Hand 1: Seat 2 is the BB, and gets up and moves to seat ten after the hand.
Hand 2: Two people immediately sit down, in the 2 and 4 seat. Seat 3 posts his BB, and the deal asks and seat 2 and 4 both post. Button is at the one seat.
Hand 3: Buttin as the the three seat, 4 posts a small blind and 5 doesn't post the BB... cards are dealt and after being dealt 5 objects saying that 3 should have to post a small blind at some point - and that he (5 seat) had no intention of paying the blinds and was just playing out the rest of his free hands.

There isn't nearly enough info here, we need to know if they use "forward moving button" or "nevada/dead button rules"

This is at the Bellagio, so I believe it would be a Nevada dead button rule.

This is where the mistake is made. You can allow seat 2 to be the big blind with no small blind or seat 3 to be the big blind.

If seat 2 wants to come in he is the big blind, and seat 4 can post out of position. then next hand seat 2 is sb and seat 3 is bb. Then next ahdn seat 2 receives the button.

The Bellagio may have a specific rule to not to do it this way (I have no idea if they made any other rules when introducing posting between etc).

When this happens some players will object to seat one getting the button twice. WHen I have been on the floor and faced this objection I have offered to put an empty chair between teh 1 and 2 seat and allwo that to be the dead button if it would make them feel better (that usually makes it clearer unless they are completely new to casino poker).

Was the five seat right to stand up instead of post?
and if so, what happens to that hand? I believe the 6 seat folded as the last cards where being dealt before the 5 seat was asked to post.

Since the hand before was messed up now they should call the floor to rule and the floor will decide what is fair and equitable. Seat 5 cannot be required to post if he prefers to leave.

Because what happened before that point was incorrect its hard to jump in and figure out what was right at the later point.

The Player in Seat 5 if he doesn't want to post his blind ought to do something before the cards are dealt.

As to whether he was right or not I have some questions:
1) Did the dealer tell the player to post the blind before the deal began?

2) Did the Player in seat 5 look at his cards before deciding that he wasn't playing his blinds.

If the answer to question number 1 is yes then it seems to me there is no excuse for the player to not have said something earlier.

If the answer to question # 2 is yes then we need Al to come over and kick him in the nuts.

No, I was not told first - otherwise I would have left. And no I did not look. I stopped the action pretty quickly and complained that it was wrong and I had been planning on leaving. The dealer asked if I had looked and then let me much my hand.
I only had a stack of red and a few blues left, so it wasn't as if I had to rack up before leaving. So the dealer couldn't have just seen and asked if I wanted to leave.
Afterwards I was uncertain if I did something wrong.

Thats a dealer screwup you didn't do anything wrong.

I had a similar thing happen at MGM when they first opened. The first time I played when I sat down I asked the dealer if I had to post to come in. The dealer told me I didn't have to post.

The next time I came to play I sat down two seats away from the Big Blind, the dealer dealt me cards and I looked down to see pocket 8's. The player sitting immediately to my right made a substantial raise and then the dealer looked at me and told me I had to post. I told him I wasn't going to post and threw my cards in the muck. He didn't say anything and nobody else did.

The thing is that in all honesty if there hadn't been a substantial raise I would have played those cards. But in fairness to me, if the dealer had told me that I had to post before he dealt I would have waited two hands to come in.

I don't think I did anything wrong, but I know that it didn't look kosher.
