Default Big blind , play or fold?

Paradise $300 - 40 places play

I'm a novice at tournies and at no limit play but I've staggered into the money. Currently 37 left blinds 1200/600 ante 75

My big blind with K4o. started with T3700 so if I fold I have T2425 and will be 36th or 37th.

Payment stucture is very flat. Small step up in money at 30th and need to get to 20th before it steps up again and gets serious.

5 folds and then a raise to 3000, folded to me. Raiser started with 20,000 and is capable of stealing.

Becuase of the flat payment structure the game has become very lively and I thought I had a better chance of making it to more money by playing this HU pot then getting shorter stacked and hoping for a better chance so I went all-in with K4o

Wondered if I've got this right or should I wait for a better chance.

Thanks

chez

Tough one. Fold, and you will emerge on the other side of the SB with 1800 in chips. I think you shouldn't have let yourself get this low. =)

I'd go ahead and push. But its close.

obvious that you will get a call if you push so you have to fold (unless you want to gamble, which i do) Any ace you are 60 40 dog, if you has kX you a big dog, and qX jX your only 60 40 favorite. push if you want to gamble and hope your lucky.
i personally would have pushed well before this hand because 3700 in chips is 3 times the blind and if you double up you still short stacked. I do understand that if you got short stacked in order to get into the money but once in the money you have to push immediatly with any decent hand and prefer you to push first so someone has to call you.

Easy push.

You're not going to fold into more money. The pot is laying you 2:1 when villain calls. You're about 1:2 against his range of hands, so its a fair bet. I'd go here.

Thanks all.

It looks like you think I should have pushed earlier. Would you have gone with these hands.

Since getting in the money my hands have been.

UTG+2 folded to me with 87o
UTG+1 folded to me with K6s
UTG A4o

I take it that both K6s and A4o were good enough to push. What about 87o?

With 3BB I'd have pushed with A4 UTG, K6 UTG+1, and maybe even the 78 if it was folded to me.

(blind)

now is as good as any to push your chips. at least you have a K in your hand. If you don't play this you are down to less 1800 after SB hits you and your are in a tougher situation, because you do not have any FE as it is right now.

Push and hope for the best.

I push the 87, and if I don't I insta-push the K6s. After pushing one/both of these I fold A4o. If for some reason you don't push at least 1 of the other hands you MUST push the A4o. Your goal here is not to win a showdown, but to avoid one.
