There is no best book. Read, learn, expand. What kind of answers are you really seeking?

Pot Limit & No Limit Hold'em is very good.

Both Ciaffone and Harrington offer valuable information for a new player, Harrington covers the concept of hand range and the value of aggression better than anyone else, Ciaffone covers NL basics such as stack size and position which you don't get out of the limit oriented Sklansky stuff.

Ironically, Sklansky on Tournament for Advanced players helped me a lot.

I have adopted a lot of the tournament startegy outlined in this book to deal with the uber-aggressive capped buy-in no-limit games.
