Vegas Trip Report 11/3-11/7

I'd like to introduce this report by first saying that Vegas was as fun as a barrel of monkeys and that I was very sloshed during most of the cool parts so if I left someone out or [censored] up the details I didn't mean it.

--THURSDAY--

I arrive in Vegas on Thursday evening and call Deathdonkey and Jason_t as soon as my plane lands. I check in my bags at the bellagio bell desk and walk down the strip to meet up with a bulk of internet celebrities. Among the group is Entity, Shillx, Jasont, Deathdonkey, Bottomset, PITTM, Dids and someone else I can't remember. They just finished playing some craps at Casino Royale and eating at Chipotle, so we head over to the Wynn to meet up with PJN (Cnfzzd), rmarrotti and rt.

We get the Wynn to spread us a new 4/8 holdem game so that we can have the first of many twoplustwo donkfests. In the first orbit, PJN is playing good poker. He took advantage of our weaktight styles by playing every preflop for 4bets, but runs bad and gets stuck for 13 racks by the end of the night. Bottomset is sitting in seat 1, Entity in seat 2 and me in seat 3. A couple of orbits go around and Bottomset straddles UTG, Entity blind 3bets it and I blind 4bet. Someone else behind me 5bets and when the action gets back to Bottomset he FOLDS! Jasont immediately jumps out of his chair and reaches across the table to point in Bottomset's face while screaming at the top of his lungs in a very serious and vicious tone, "IF YOU'RE GONNA STRADDLE LIKE THAT, I WILL [censored] END YOU." Everyone at the table starts laughing and we all turn our heads over to Jason expecting him to burst a smile but his face turns red as an apple. Jason has been known to get really angry when he goes on tilt and it turns out that the rumors are true. Fortunately for him though, he's really funny when he's angry. There was another hand where I blind 4bet preflop (everyone knows this) and I look down to see aces to win an absolutely gigantic pot against Dids where he calls me down with a pair of 6s.

At this point I've been chugging down as many drinks as I can possibly get my hands on and am getting pretty [censored] up. Entity, PJN and I had been keeping the action going at the table but I'm stuck 400 while PJN lost all of his cocaine money. He still has enough money to buy us all free rounds of shots though. Entity however is up god-only-knows how many racks and is playing his hands blind until the river. Despite not knowing what cards he's holding, he is still playing really well postflop extracting maximum value every time he outflops someone's overpair. The Wynn's floor comes over to us hassling us about the noise, which is absolutely absurd considering they are running a dead cardroom and we are giving their casino more action than they've ever had and are tipping the dealers enough to pay for their children's education. Everyone eventually decides to leave and I'm the first one to go to sleep at 2am as I'm still on eastern time. Deathdonkey, Entity, Klepton, Shillx, Jasont and I are all sharing the same Bellagio room and almost all of the other twoplustwoers are at other Bellagio rooms as well.

--FRIDAY--

When I wake up sometime in the afternoon I make my way down to the cardroom and lean over the shoulders of CDC (Chris Daddy Cool) and Josh. (Sthief09) at their 30/60 game to see if I can pick up any tricks of the trade. First hand I watch CDC straddles UTG and takes a gigantic pot off of Josh. after catching a straight flush with 57s. My name got called for another 30/60 table so I didn't see many other hands, but I later found out that CDC took 6 racks off that game (100BBs) by catching infinite amounts of wheels by playing any 2 unsuited wheel cards for raises. CDC is playing every hand preflop but was playing well postflop. Josh. was piss drunk and was also donking around but was unfortunately stuck.

The evening sets in and we all walk down to the MGM grand to meet our party of 14 dinner reservations at Craft Steak which is apparently a top of the line restaurant in Vegas. GoT (GuyOnTilt) was throwing a steak dinner birthday party for bakkubakku and the dinner bill came to about $150 per person. For some reason everyone there designates me as the guy in charge of wine even though I'm the only underage guy at the table. The waiter comes over and I ask him if he has any recommendations for bottled wine in the $80 price range. He says he has the perfect bottle of merlot and I ask if I can taste it before we order more and he pours a little into my glass. I nod my head and say "it's good" as if I even knew what I was talking about. Entity tastes the cabernet and we order 4 bottles altogether.

As we're waiting for appetizers, Josh. starts yelling to Jason_t through 4 other people at the table saying "You're pretty. You're a pretty guy." Josh. is a funny drunk but his voice is a little loud for the caliber of restaurant we're in. "You're pretty, but you still like the dick! "What?" says Jason. "YOU LIKE-THE DICK." Everyone is laughing but we remedy the problem by having Josh. switch seats with PITTM to be closer to Jason so he won't have to shout over everyone to talk to him. The steak finally arrives and everything is absolutely amazing. There are alot of different cuts of meat on the table ranging from kobebeef, porterhouse, veal and pretty much every other good type of steak there is. That was probably the best steak I've ever had. This might be the only chance I ever get at ElDiablo envying an evening of mine. The portions of servings were so plentiful as well. I was completely stuffed and there was still food left on the table after everyone had unbuckled their belts.

After dinner we all head over to the MGM craps tables where the casino proceeds to tear us all new assholes. It turns out that the night before, GoT and CDC were gambling it all up trying to make a score in blackjack. They decided that they were either going to win a thousand dollars or lose a thousand dollars. So they start betting a hundred dollars a hand or so and catch a down streak. They go up and down for a long time and almost make it over their 1000 mark, but immediately go on a huge downswing right after. They finally say the hell with it and bet $300 on every square on the blackjack table. The dealer shows a ten and they double down on 3 elevens. they catch a bunch of 20s on some other hands and don't bust on any. The dealer busts on his ten and GoT and CDC sweep every bet and all 3 doubledowns putting them way over the 1000 mark. God it's good to be asian.

We head up to GoT's room to play some 10 handed 1/2 mixed games with bellagio chips and decks. Uw_madtown makes his introduction to the group by playing in the game as well. The game is of course out of control and every pot is literally 40BBs. We're playing crazyfox, quadruple flop holdem and a bunch of other crazy games. DeathDonkey comes up with a pretty cool game for those that are interested in this sort of thing. It's 4 card double draw with a community river. Bakkubakku is absolutely tearing this game apart and is up 150BBs in short order. GoT is actually putting out $5 for everyone preflop to make them cap preflop blind even though every preflop is already capped blind every hand and has at least 5 players to the flop. Entity is totally hammered off his hard liquor and GoT offers to stake him for craps. At this point it's like 6am so I go to sleep early but Entity says he doesn't remember what happened after that.

--SATURDAY--

After grinding the 30/60 for a few hours, I meet themetetron for the first time and find out that he's really a good guy. I say this because he comes off pretty bad on the forums and gets a bad wrap but he's a good guy in person. Whenever we both turn 21 I'll gladly buy him a drink if he's ever in town. I round up everybody to go over to the legendary magoofest and there is a large pack of us. I think the group consists of me, themetetron, rt, klepton, PJN, shant, bottomset, and Shillx. I round up a limo to take us over and we all hop in except for PJN and 2 other guys who want to stick stuff up their noses before heading over.

Magoofest is pretty much donking at its finest. There were 3 or 4 tables of games. My table consisted of me, rt, metetron, bottomset, Sossman, GoblinMasonCraig, Bugstud, Cowboyhatguy?? and a few other twoplustwoers whos names I didn't know. Cowboyhat was a friend of GoblinMason who posts on twoplustwo but not very frequently. I don't remember his posting name. He was a great guy and bought me a drink or two at a club later on. Bugstud, the true playa that he is buys in for about a million racks of white and has stacks of 25s, 5s and 100s for this 2/4 game. It's a good thing though because the dealers were literally getting tipped between $100-$300 a down and they couldn't fit all their white chips in their shirt pocket. Bugstud had to keep coloring them up with his greens. Alot of people were tipping the dealers entire pots and we eventually got to the point where we decided to make a $2 ante and that ante went straight to the dealer. This went on for hours and each dealer was literally getting $20 a hand in tips plus whatever tips they got from the winner of the pot.

We were playing anything but normal games. The dealers were dealing anything we told them to. Every hand was capped preflop and had like 9 players to the flop. The game was so crazy that in most hands everybody at the table was playing with their hands face up and everyone was still capping every street. The only street that wouldn't get bet would be the river after everyone knew they couldn't win! One game that I recall us playing off the top of my head is quintuplet flop holdem where the best hand out of all 5 flops takes down the pot. I don't remember too many other games because I was drinking alot and we were all doing shots together. I think it was Bugstud who ordered everyone a round of Kettle vodka but some of the others copped out on that one. Cowboyhatguy ordered everyone had a Redbull and vodka as well.

Eventually we ran out of cool games and I came up with one that everyone really liked so I figured I'd share it here. The dealer deals a game of razz but whenever he deals a queen or a king upcard to a player, that player gets to eliminate somebody from the pot. Another game I came up with that was popular but I'm not personally fond of is we played 7cardstud but you don't get your hole cards until the end. Believe it or not this game actually worked and the pots had the most ridiculous action. On first street the ace up would bet his hand and the jack high would raise. the 3s and 4s would coldcall, the ace would reraise, the jack would 4bet it and the ace would cap it for like 7 way action! Never have I played holdem as awesome as this.

When magoofest started to get boring and everyone started to realize just how much money they dumped we took a Hummer limo over to the Wynn. The crew as I recall it looked like me, ggbman, Soiler (NlSoldier), GoblinMason, Cowboyhatguy, Josh., Alobar, and rt. We met up with a bunch of guys and started playing 4/8 pineapple with a kill. Ggbman got carded immediately and walked out so klepton took his seat and chips to the right of me. I was so drunk during this game since I was pounding down the gin and tonics and was already toasted from the magoofest. I had no idea what was going on and klepton kept stealing chips from me (jokingly) and gave them back. He helped me play my hands though. I think the rest of the table looked like gonores, Bugstud, DeathDonkey, GoblinMason, Alobar, Entity, Soiler and Cowboyhatguy. This game of course was also out of control crazy with caps on every street. The dealers were making at least $100 per down, probably much more.

Then all of the sudden for no reason, the stupid floor manager came over and asked to see everyone's ID. I played a really convincing role explaining to her that I am in fact a 24 year old but that I left my ID in my room. I was so believable that afterwards some of the guys asked me if I was really 24 or not. Josh. actually did in fact leave his ID in his room. Everyone decided that the Wynn sucks for pulling this crap and they broke up the game and klepton cashed out my chips for me. Seriously, the Wynn must not like money. You have young guys coming in and playing the most wild poker having a great time jollying it up and tipping everyone with no care for money and they break up the game. The floor costed the upcoming dealers a huge sum of tips. The room was dead too so it's not like our antics were bothering the other players.

After the game broke up, me, Alobar, Josh., Soiler, GoblinMasonCraig, Cowboyhatguy, klepton and Bugstud all went down to the Dejavue, a local nude strip club to have some fun. We were all having a good time when these stupid strippers kept coming up to me wanting to give me lapdances. It soon became a game to see how many I could tell off. Klepton felt bad for this one stripper that came up to me 3 times so he got a lapdance from her for $30. He said it was terrible though. She was so short that when she tried to grind her feet couldn't reach the floor. Other than her height, she really was impressively attractive. I was really [censored] up at the time though and wasn't seeing too clearly. Everyone wanted me to get a lapdance, but I wanted them to buy me it. Shortly after Alobar, GoblinMason, klepton and Cowboy head out and it's just the 4 of us. Josh. and I have been talking about life and poker for a while. One of the other 2 behind me interrupts our conversation by asking me a question and when I look back at Josh. hes gone. What a funny guy. Soiler goes in the back to get a lapdance and I tell Bugstud I'll pay for half of his. The stripper gave Soiler a free handjob and he says he has the fingernail marks on his dick to prove it. ouch. We get back to the Bellagio and Soiler tells me that someone just told him about how shant was yelling over one of the tables in the poker room and they kicked him out. He then stands over the rail from the outside and heckles the table that bakkubakku and GoT are playing at and they floor tells him to leave the vicinity of the room altogether.

While Soiler is telling me this, shant starts walking passed us being escorted by 3 floormen up to his room. Apparently when shant was told to leave the vicinity of the poker room, he went over to the sportsbook about 30 feet away and then a few minutes later bakkubakku jumps out of his chair and screams something. The floor comes over and one of the random guys at the table points to shant at the sportsbook and neither bakkubakku or GoT say anything.

--SUNDAY--

Unfortunately Sunday was pretty uneventful but worth telling. I make my way down to the poker room and get called over to the 30/60 game where Josh., GoblinMason and Cowboyhat are all playing. The fish that were there all get up shortly after and leave and there is no board. They are immediately replaced by Klepton, CDC and Hobbs along with 2 unknowns. Everyone starts out playing really tight how they are supposed to and then all hell breaks loose when CDC decides he wants to play the 100VPIP. An interesting hand that came up was the following:

Josh. limps UTG1, klepton limps UTG2, 2 unknowns limp, CDC raises on the button, blinds fold, Josh. calls, klepton limpreraises, (dont remember what the unknowns did), CDC calls, Josh reraises, klepton reraises to 5bets and CDC calls.

Flop is 53Jr

Josh. checks, klepton bets, CDC calls, Josh. calls/folds.

Turn is a 5

klepton bets, CDC calls HU

River is a 4

klepton bets, CDC calls

klepton shows 98s for nothing, CDC shows 47o and HHIG.

After a little while everyone leaves and it's only me and Hobbs along with a bunch of unknowns. I start ordering drinks and hit a good rush of cards. I'm on my 8th drink when the waitress comes over and asks to see my ID. WTF? I tell her that I left it in my room and try to tip her a 10. She says she can't help me and so I basically rack up and Josh. cashes out for me. The guys tell me to go up to my room and when they are ready to go out they'll come and get me, but they end up grinding poker all night at Bellagio instead so I end up watching the first and second Matrix on TBS.

Noone can believe that I got carded twice. For those that haven't met me which is alot of you, I look exceptionally old for my age and all the twoplustwoers thought I easily passed for 25+.

To wrap things up ggbman was playing 30/60 at the Bellagio all through Sunday night and legend has it that he had 37 drinks over a long period of time. Apparently he was unconcious up in his room and never even threw up. Bicyclekick took care of him, hopefully he's OK.

--MONDAY--

Noone was around so I played some poker, walked around and departed at 8pm. I went from Vegas to LA to Chicago to Hartford and arrived in Hartford at 11am. Don't ask.

great report. it was nice seeing and playing with you and i absolutely destroyed every 30/60 table i touched that weekend it was ridiculous.

my stats were probably something like 65/18 that weekend with a 90bb/100 winrate. starting with 2 racks and leaving with 7 is fun times. so is hitting an infinite amount of straights with off suit gappers and straddling and hitting straight flushes. if only me and got didn't gamb000l so much. TstoneMBD, great report. Fun to read up on the trip reports, although it's clear now that I no longer have the appropriate bankroll to sit in any sort of 2+2 game.
