I would play the turn and river a little differently. Put in a bigger bet on the turn, pot it, see where you stand from there. His cold calling scares me more than if he comes over the top. I am checking down the river, and depending on his bet then deciding fold or call. There seem to be a lot o ways this could be played, I'd be curious to see what some of the more experienced guys say. Hope it worked out.

you should have a more firm plan on what you're going to do when he bets. if you're going to fold to a pot bet or over bet, then you're better off blocking. checking here would induce a bluff and any bet should be called.

you should always try to think 2 or 3 steps ahead.

I would probably call a min.raise, btu not more than that. I'm not sure though.

I know. The river bet was meant to be a blocker, but I see alot of people calling down my "steal" and min.re-raising the river vs. my "7 2o". As I said, I´m not sure. Most other scenarios I fold if a blocker gets raised (which is what defines a blocking bet, I guess)

Seems like you played it right.

I do not agree with checking the river. At least half the time you will face a bet, and at times it will be a big one which will force you into a hard decision that you would rather avoid.

I would bet for value on the river, assuming he was also on a draw (maybe he thought his K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] was good) or more than likely top pair mid kicker. If he raises more than 3X your bet, you should let the hand go. If he minraises you he most likely has you beat but in my mind it wouldn't be correct to fold.

Did you end up winning this hand?

Just my thoughts!

Nope. He had 9 8o and my MHING. He let me draw for my own price the whole way though.

I might c/c the turn and vb the river. I also might play it your way. A free card will rarely hurt you here on the turn, though. But it could make him a straight or two pair, so betting the turn is definitely not bad.
