Default Is this a nutty play at a wild table?

I had been at this table for about 10 hands, and people were going nuts with crap in the early streets. I am particularly interested in sixth street thoughts. Anyone think I should have tried a CR on the river, or would the sixth street CR negate any possible usefulness?

I would think if you are going to make a nutty play, the best time is 5th when you both catch your possible flushes and your spades are almost completely live. He bet his, so either say you have one too and it is better or get out of the way. If he calls you have to pray for your miracle 4 and hope it comes up...nice praying.

Even if people are going nuts with crap hands, it doesn't take much to beat a pair of fours, Stream. I think if you are going to make a play, fifth is the time to do it. Folding is probably your best option though. Just my thoughts.

I think raising third would make this hand play alot better, you may even get it heads up. Folding can't be too wrong though.

I wouldn't c/r the river, it looks like hes on a flush draw and I doubt he'll bluff after you c/r'ed 6th. Betting right out is probably best.

Sometimes, when you win, you lose. You got positive reinforcement for reckless play. I don't think this is your style. In general, bluffing does not appear to have posiive expectaion at 5/10 stud. I just don't like this type of play, but i'm afraid of flying also, so what does that say about me?

So far everyone dislikes the sixth street CR bluff, but if you were villain what would you put me on, and what meaning would you assign to the delay until sixth? I didn't need the last four to win this hand. Obviously I get creamed if he really has the flush, but look at all the dead hearts.

I'd lean towards folding 3rd street. If I was in last position i'd call or maybe with 1 non threatening card behind me, but when you add 2 players I'm usually folding this hand.

4th street you should check/fold.

5th street you should bet like you did and hope everyone folds

6th street I think you should just check/call. I don't think you can fold now with all the dead hearts, and his pair cards are also partially dead. But I don't think you should be betting/raising here. I really like check/calling here. Think about the possible hands your opponent may have:

A pair better than yours: Most players are just gonna call you down if you bluff the river here. Once inawhile you'll get away with the bluff but most of the time you won't

A draw: By raising here, you are stopping him from bluffing the river, which he probably will do if he misses. When he does hit his hand, he'll certainly bet/raise and he'll get that extra bet on 6th street that he wouldn't have had you just called 6th, but you'll STILL get the extra bet if he misses because he's going to bluff the river most of the time. Also your hand is so weak that a draw isn't even a big underdog on 6th street because he can spike tons of pairs to win.

A pair lower than yours: Its possible he has 2s here. In this case he's going to bluff the river just like he would a draw, so its the same thing with this hand.

So my suggestion is to check call here, and call no matter what happens on the river. I think I'd still check/call even after making trips on the river, because most of the time he's gonna bluff at the pot and you dont want to stop that.

Given that you raised 6th street, I guess you might as well bet the river since he's going to be afraid to bluff after you showed so much aggression on 6th.

I might limp on third if the game is especially passive (not "wild"), but I really don't see any reason to put chips into this pot.

I hate how you played third ( although the least of the bunch )

I hate how you played fourth

I really hate what you did on fifth
I really really really hate 6th

and the case 4 on the river was irrelevant cause you were still betting no matter what you caught correct?

So in response to your question, yes it was nutty. It was only 5-10 with a standard structure, wait for better opportunities to splash your chips around.
