Concerned about kicker with trips

This is not a whining post at all. I'm just wondering when you see hands normally not worth playing in the blinds and you make something like this, how you go about playing it? Obviously if he has a 2 I'm done, but I was pretty sure he just had a jack; the way he played he would've raised me with trips. I know the initial check is a bad thing, and I only did it because there's just nothing there for anyone to catch if he doesn't have a 2.

So my question, after all that rambling, how would you play something like this? Criticisms very welcome. Thanks

You missed out on some value by betting so small on the turn and the river.

Ok. You screwed this up. If your only going to call the flop, check the turn to induce another bet. If you feel you must bet out, BET THE POT. Same with the river.

He will show down a worse hand more often than one that beats yours. Get more money in.

A check call is also good. Esp if the villan is overly aggro.
