Re: when you stop playing cards & start playing poker.
I would say that online, it is much more difficult to make that kind of statement. You can get some sort of read on your opponents, but it is worth about 25-50% of what a good live read is on a player. Since, my exposure to NL is going to have to be online until my next vegas trip, or canterbury NL tourneys, I am wondering about a couple of general rules or thoughts.
I was thinking about this after hearing Howard Lederer comment on the showdown at the sands, and the commentary from the WPT whenever it is Blind v Blind and someone has an ace..... but thanks for the helpful post...i learned a lot. Spoody |

Re: raise the stakes...start a 2nd home game...
For those of us with lives, this is a legit question. For those of you with no family, no wife, no kids, a shelf full of raman noodles and a hot plate, then your advice may be great. I'm sure you fit that description to a tee. So good luck with that, and make sure to mix it up a little and try the cup o noodles once and a while. And if your feeling really bold, try the mac and cheese.
And again, thanks for the wonderful advice...I'm a better poker player because of you Spoddy |

i love this game...
im fat, smelly, poor, single, have no culinary taste, and only play poker. could it be possible that i'm fit, married, well off, accomplished and still play winning poker 3 nights a week? here's a tip. if you want your pasty bloated wife to "allow" you to play poker a couple nights a week try winning once in a while...buy her a new pair of manolo's (i think they come in EEE) and she'll change her toon in a second.
hmmm come to think of it maybe you were complimenting my culinary tastes by suggesting i enjoy ramen...its probably the best chinese you'll find in mineeesooooda. Personally I go for the dry aged hand cut new york served by a waiter older than god at Dan Tana's on the Sunset strip. |

Re: i love this game...
I'd guess the former on you. My wife is a marathon runner, so bloated is just not possible. I deposited $200 into both UB and PP 6 mos ago and have pulled out about $2-3K out of there w/o ever depositing again...so my poker play is fine. Once or twice a week is fine for me, my life is not defined by poker.
MN has some excellent asian restaurants...Rainbow Chinese, Shanghai Deli, Quang's Deli, Chang Mai Thai... And Steak? The number one steak place in the country is Manny's Steakhouse in Minneapolis. Ive eaten at Dan Tana's..its pretty good, but does not compare to Manny's. By the way, I'm bored with you. Later, Spoody |
