Default stealing blinds

Earlier someone posted something about "that should teach you to look at stack sizes when stealing blinds." What is the ideal stack size to steal from??? And what other things should one look into for good stealing situations?

Stack sizes are important but so are player tendencies. Ideally you want to steal from a short (but not desperate) stacked player that has been playing very tight to try to move up in the money. Even if they push you usually have the odds to call and hopefully losing won't cripple you.

On the flip side, it is generally best to avoid stealing from big stacks that have been playing aggressively. Only mess with them when u have a real hand hoping to double up.

Be patient, think about the image you have at the table, and look for weak-tight players to pick on when the opportunity presents itself.

You want to steal from medium-sized stacks. Small stacks are likely to call/push, costing you more money. Your raise will likely price you into calling short stacks raise and now everyone knows what you're stealing with.

If you try to steal from a big stack, they're the most likely to "muscle" you back, especially if they're aggressive.

Medium-sized stacks often are trying to just hang on to get into the money. They don't want to risk their chips on risky propositions so they can make the money.

So, if you have two tight medium stacks in the blind that haven't been aggressive in playing back at blind steals...that's when you want to do it.

If you've noticed that the 2 to your left haven't been defending their blinds, then that's a good situation for you.. plus it's cheap cuz if they're tight you know they'll probably call you with good values, and check the flop if they miss.. position is good even if you have nothing on tight players

more aggro players and people re-raising your 'projected' steals (you prolly have legit hands sometimes) aren't good.. also lots of people are tight, but like to defend their blinds as part of a balanced strategy and for pot odds

what do you classify as a medium stack compared to the blinds???? And if there are no medium stacks is it better to attack shorter stacks or larger stacks AND what if the tight / ideal player to steal from is on your right. Is it worth risking an early position steal raise assuming you have a solid image???
