Default Playing the small pots

I just started playing NLHE after a longer venture into PLO. My game is still reasonably good, at least in the bigger pots where i have played solid so far. However my big problem is playing the small more marginal pots when neither me or my opponent have anything strong. I feel that i am constantly bleeding of chips for no reason. The things i am talking about is specifically the river betting where i tend to be calling my opponents valuebets way to often and valuebet myself in the wrong situations. Things like TPMK and two pair on flush boards.

Since people tend to post the biggest hands here there is plenty of stuff to read about that but i cant find any good resources or discusions about the abouve mentioned stuff. Could anyone help me by pointing out some posts or suggest anything else?
