You might be better served to review the tenor of your response to the OP; not just this OP but pretty much all posters.

Your information while well formulated containing much valuable information is presented in a manner that many will find a bit too, shall we say, doctrinaire.

The OP revealed in his opening that he was attempting a check/3 bet of the flop, and admitted the error in his way. He questioned the propriety of the river fold, more specifically, and even that was more in the form of an admission of guilt. In fact, this post is more in the form of a mea culpa.

I like the flop call, but I'm not so sure about 3-betting if Button raises & BB calls. I think this is one of those spots where I'd rather see a safe turn card before I hit the raise button.

I don't think this is a terrible river fold, based on the reads on your opponents. Of course, a lot depends on how solid a read you have on them--if this is just 50/100 hands each, I think you have to call.

But I think a lot of people are missing the situation you're in here. BB is representing a made flush, and his play thus far in the hand is very indicative of exactly that holding. The player behind you is aggressive in the extreme, which makes for a pretty good chance that he decides to raise on the end (whether as a bluff, slowplay, or just plain dumb raise with the 2nd or 3rd best hand). So you first of all have a good chance that you're behind BB, and second of all have a good chance that if you call 1, it's going to come back 2 more to you.

Again, if the read size is fairly small I think you're priced in to call (BB could have a set of 3s or KQ), but if this is over several hundred or thousand hands, I like the fold.

I would call the river bet. The pot is too big not to call.

I would have raised the flop and then called the hand down to the river. It looks like there is a flush but the pot is too big to fold here. You may be ahead, someone could have top pair or 2 pair.

Did you think the button was going to raise behind you? Was he doing this alot? (I know big AF)

I think this river fold is wrong. You only have to be good 1 time in 11 to be +EV. They're both raising KK,QQ,TT before the fall. Is 2/4 the level where people started betting/raising flush draws?...I don't remember.

If you're worried about the button raising the river, I'd have to think he just has the naked A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and is trying to squeeze out the fourth club.

Dont let your skill cloud your judgement. 99% of all hands are played in an amazingly straight forward manner, and you didnt choose to do that with this one. Because of that, i suspect you have made a poor river choice here, even if it may have worked out in this instance.
