problems with HU

[4T25Q85]

Ive been having a great deal of trouble winning heads up recently, i was wondering if anyone could point out my leaks in my heads up game, I know you guys dont like HH posts, but I would really appreciate it if you spend a few minutes to give me some pointers.

Party 10+1: Ive started it at 3handed so you can get a feel for how the table was playing(if it helps).

When you are in the SB and make a small raise and then BB, with a stack of under 8 BBs, reraises and you fold, it is tragic.

Raise all-in or fold in these hands (they were probably all pushes) unless you are hoping for him to reraise.

my general rule of thumb is to push any hand that im not willing to call a reraise with.. its ok to make this play with, say AQ (where you will insta call a push)..

in this case, I think your opp read you as weak when you did that, and he was correct. I think you had odds to call both pushes anyway (the first one especially).. and Qx isnt TOO bad a hand to have heads up.

Don't ever fold your small blind, unless the opponent very often raises when you limp it. At this point, you probably can't know much about them, so you probably should play this hand. Whether you limp or raise is up to you, I like to start off HU play quite aggressively, to take control of the game. Then later, I can be more patient to get my money all in with a good hand because the opponent will usually not put as much pressure on me.

At this point, you've won the last 4 pots, and the last two times you've raised (with legitimate hands, but villain doenst know that) they've folded. Their stack is dwindling, and at some point they'll have to make a stand. I'd prefer to limp here, to mix up your play. If villain pushes, you can fold, but you know a push represents strength since they havent played a hand yet in HU.

As you played it, you should have called the push, as you were getting almost 3-1 odds, which is more than enough to call Ax or Kx, which is villains most likely hand here (along with PPs JJ-66, but the odds there are still worth calling as the dominant stack and with a chance to knock out the villain and win). Plus, folding shows the villain that you dont defend your preflop raises, which isnt good unless you plan to only raise with premium hands from now on (not a good way to play HU)

Now the villain seems to have woken up and pushed all in on the last 4 hands. Folding here is fine, as you can expect nothing less again and 82o sucks. Its time to be a little more patient, let villain go crazy, and catch them when you get a good hand.

I think this push is a little rash, especially with a stack bigger than 10x the BB. If villain wakes up with a hand, you're in trouble. Better to put in a moderate raise and see where you stand, or consider limping in. You haven't limped in yet during HU, so it could throw the villain off a little and you'll probably see a flop.
