Default 3 card poker -?

I was looking for some real texas hold em games, but it seems most of the casinos in Michigan only have 3 card poker and caribbean stud poker. Any comments on either? Are they worth playing?
Thanks
Kerry

Those are both casino table games, much like blackjack and craps (and Let it Ride, another "poker" game). The only "poker" aspect is that they use poker hands to determine whether you win or lose. There's not much in the way of bet/raise/fold decisions to be made, you play against the house and there's certainly no bluffing.

The house edge on Carribean Stud is enormous, something on the order of 16%. I don't remember off the top of my head what the house edge for 3-card poker is (it's actually two games, but I don't remember the exact details so I don't want to mislead you).

Find a website run by a guy called the Wizard of Odds and he goes through all of the optimum strategies for these games and many others.

Good luck!

According to the wizard of odds the odds for carribian stud are a little worse than 5% loss. For three card poker, the house edge varies along with the payout schedule.

Neither are "worth playing" unless you enjoy -EV gambling, which many people do.
