middle pair on the flop
I found myself in two predicaments several times in my home game last night.
The first predicament is this: I find myself with mid-pair on the flop. Since this wasn't a serious tournament, just a home cash game, I saw it to the turn (if its cheap) and fold if I dont make a set or some other hand. Any thoughts on middle pair out there? The other predicament was this: On more than 5 occasions I found myself with A-K-Q-J on the flop (2 in my hand, 2 on the board). A couple of times it was free or cheap enough to see if I caught a 10. Never did. lol. Any thoughts on this hand as well? Thanks for your thoughts [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

Re: middle pair on the flop
Not enough info to answer.
1. Limit or NL? 2. Position? 3. Preflop action? 4. Stck sizes (if NL)? |

i'm playing nlhe, mid-to-late position (not utg)... as i said this happened several times, and pre-flop action was most likely not raised, or not raised much. as for chip stacks, i was not chipleader, but perhaps 2nd or 3rd. |

Re: middle pair on the flop
still not enough info.
1. Exact position & preflop action (including amount of raise if raised) 2. Cash game or tourney 3. If a tourney, how far from the money? There are no general answers in poker. |

Re: middle pair on the flop
With 2 or 3 limpers checked to you in late position bet 3/4 of the pot, if it's checked around in ep, on the turn lead out with a pot bet or check raise. If everyones checking they're either slowplaying or no one hit top pair, most likely the later. Squeeze out the draws by representing top pair or better. Yeah I'm a bit laggy.
