The answer is, "it depends."

2 things i've noticed:

1) big stacks minraising are often pure steal attempts while shorter stacks will use it as deception to try to get played back at

2) if a player instantly minraises, it seems to be weaker than a hesitation raise

This is a very it depends question, but I'd say more often than not its just a hand and not a monster. The times it is usually a monster is when a guy with 4-5 BBs minraises.

i kept the info to a minimum because i wanted a general answer. ive been seeing this at almost every single STT i play in (the ones that i last through level 1 ) and wanted to know what your STT vets thought of the bet.

In general weak but they are so common in low level SnGs that they can really mean anything. It really depends on the player.

EP miniraisers at 100/200 blinds or so (especially utg) seem to always be monsters.. they dont want to scare the table with an UTG push\big raise, but dont want to give the bb free flop either.
