Led Zepellin -- "If you listen very hard, a Jew will bother you a lot" (If you listen very hard, the tune will come to you at last)

Well, from brucespringsteen.net, the line is "Cut loose like a deuce another runner in the night"

Another common one is Jimi's "Excuse me while I kiss the sky"

Eh? What the hell are the words then?

I get "I come to you on a submarine" in
The BeeGees 'How Deep is your love'

i always hear, "excuse me while I kiss this guy."

[/ QUOTE ]

Jimi definitely knew of the ambiguity and intentionally played it up in concerts.

That's what Bruce says in the original version. I still don't know what Manfred Mann is trying to say. I recommend just not listening.

I have a million of these. One of the most common for me when I was young was the Steve Miller tune "Jet Airliner." "Big old Jed had a light on."

The Vibesgirl told me when she first heard Pop Singer by John Mellencamp, she thought he was saying, "Never wanted to be no Bob Seger, never wanted to write no pop songs." She wondered why John was dissin' on Bob. I thought that was a riot.

Steve Miller Band - Big ole jet airliner -"Big ole Jed had a light on"

No Doubt - Spiderwebs - "No matter who calls, I scream my balls off" (instead of "I screen my phone calls")
