Also, you shouldn't settle, if you ask for the number, do not accept less.

I disagree, if the phone is on the table and you act supremely confident this can be highly effective.

Additionally, if the phone is not on the table saying "hey let me see your cell phone real quick" will often work as well. The key is in the confidence and the total certainty that she will say yes.
