my week 4 match with crazygoose was never played. I never heard back from him after he left for school (he said he was going to be sans internet for a while). Hopefully it wont be important, since the only way it will matter is if its needed as a tiebreaker, so if it never gets payed, i dont really care.

Props go to Timprov for picking up some of my slack and helping out. You rock and work blows (right now).

Anyway, on to business. I had PM'ed Evan about the reason for the conferences and never got a response. Concequently, I threw them out the window (I admit I watch sports somewhere just above never). Now we can do things one of two ways. I assign conferences now (it will be fair and random and there is no way for me to game the assignment that puts my team in the playoffs) and top 2 from conf. A play and top 2 from B play. Then we have a winner's bracket/loser's bracket thing. This takes 2 weeks. The other option is to have the top 2 overall play for first and second and have the 3 and 4 spot team play for third. This will be one week. I will leave it up to you guys. Also, the payout is the standard 50/30/20 with a 140% share of each prize amount going to the captains of the teams ITM, and a 90% share going to the 4 team members.

In regards to the missing matches, pick a sub or call a forfeit (this is to the capts. with the player that is most MIA, PM me if a ruling is needed). To kick this off I will start. TMFS9, I know Milo has PM'ed billyjex, but more importantly, I PM'd him, got a read receipt on the message, but did not get a response. As the capt. of the team not needing a replacment, I get to pick. I want Milo to play Sammy G. I will PM them both to let them know.

How about 1 plays 4 and 2 plays 3, then the winners and losers face off?

Note that I think a couple of these were played but not reported. Or I may have missed them.

It's really just a diabolical scheme to boost my post count. Which is also why this isn't included in the last reply.

I have yet to hear back from Sammy_G for our week 5 matchup. Just an FYI.

Also - thanks for clarifying our general post-season plan.

You do have several other options here.
If you do just 1 'conference' (because I think that creating random conferences AFTER the season has started is lame) then you can have the top 4 qualify for the playoffs.
1 plays 4 while 2 plays 3....the winners meet to decide who wins the whole thing....and the losers meet to decide 3rd place.

In other words...if you do just 1 'conference' you can still have 2 rounds worth of playoffs (which might be more exciting anyway).

Personally, I'm against creating 'conferences' once the season has started.
Part of the point behind having 'conferences' is to keep one's schedule mostly within your own group for fairness.
Here you wouldn't have been doing that...by making them random then you will inevitably have several teams who played more games outside their conference than they did within.

Just my own opinion but I will defer to everyone else's feeling on this.

Also - I have no idea what you mean by 140% and 90%.
Where do these numbers come from?

Actually, I keyed our schedule after Evan's. I just randomly assigned a HULA ML team to a HULA team and then ran with it. I would use the same key on the conference pickage. It would have been the same as if I had used it from the get go.

As I said though, I am doing this in a psedo-democratic manner (blame the gov. class). You are the second to suggest this, and I think it is a fine idea.

(At least I edited instead of posting again. What's after addict?)

I beleive that team ihardlyknowher is 3-1 at the moment as week 5 is still undecided between ihardlyknowher and dave44. dave44 leads 2-1 with two matches remaining.
