Default Giving up pot odds to preserve FE

I hadn't been paying attention, so no reads
I would put the average $55 villain on something like A5, 44, KT, QJ. Whatever the reality may be, my approximated range can't be too far off for calling not to be +CEV here. However, losing cripples my nice stack pretty badly, and I thought that I would need a very significant +CEV to call here. Good fold?

I'm all about folding here. The title of your post says it all. I know alot of people who disagree with me, saying pot odds are everything. I think folding equity is everything.

You're getting the odds to call here. 2:1 on a coinflip? That's way too good to laydown, no matter what your position.

Call.

Problem is, A9 is the sort of hand that's going to be dominated by a bigger ace and a high pair.

Even if it is a pair 88-22, now you are flipping and if you lose, you lose all your FE, tourny is over unless you pick up a hand.

I'd say, 70% you are dominated, 15% coin flip, 10% you have the better ace, and 5% vs. KQ or something.

The point is, everyone understands that you have the pot odds to call. That is not the dispute, the question is, weighing obvious pot odds vs. FE for the remainder of the tourny.

I say FE is more important here.

ICM numbers are 16.61% for fold, 18.29% for call.

The question is how severely fold equity affects that. I think it's a significant effect, but not nearly that much. One problem is that the guys you want to be stealing off are pretty short stacked and you have the big stack breathing down your neck on the other side. Fold equity isn't going to be as useful as in some other situations. I'd rather get a big stack so the guy to my right has to back off a little. My style is to avoid calling with semistrong hands in these situations, but I think this one has to be a call.

how many hands are YOU shoving in the pushers position? i know im shoving a ****ton of hands here. i owuldnt be surprised to see A9 killing whatever hand the pusher flips over. utg+1 is my fave steal position. if i can make the bb fold A9 im shoving 23 without even thinking.. and i might anyway. ok ok, not 23, but u get the idea.. i hope. holla
