At what point should I have gotten out of this AA hand?
At what point should I have gotten out of this hand? Or could I have played it differently where I could safely fold sooner? UTG+1 was over-aggressive and an idiot.

Re: At what point should I have gotten out of this AA hand?
I'd cap the flop, bet the turn, and fold to a raise.
The way you played it, you could probably fold to the river raise. |

Re: At what point should I have gotten out of this AA hand?
If UTG+1 is overaggressive, I would just call his flop bet on this innocent looking board and raise the turn. But this is only a good line if you're pretty sure that UTG+1 would bet the turn again, and he sure seems to fit the bill.
In general, though you were beat this time, I think you played your hand too meekly. If this is how you normally play AA, you're leaving money on the table. |

UTG+1 called with 6s4s? only at party poker...

Re: At what point should I have gotten out of this AA hand?
I think the way you played it, once UTG+1 bets out on the river, you should just bail out because you don't want to get trapped into calling one bet here and other from the button raise in a situation where you know you're just about dead.
I think another line to take is to cap the flop, bet the turn and fold to a button turn-raise. You lose less this way. Garland |

Re: At what point should I have gotten out of this AA hand?
Yeah that would have worked. With a flop like that, then I could safely read the flopped set player for his hand. (he seemed sane)

I'd cap the flop, bet the turn, and fold to a raise. [/ QUOTE ] This is a terrible line. Absolutely atrocious. If you played it like this, there would be at least 18 big bets in the pot when the turn action gets back to you. There would probably at least 20 big bets and possibly 22 when the MP3 calls behind you twice. And you want to fold on the turn? There may be no worse way to play a hand than to put the maximum # of bets into the pot early in the hand and then fold in big pots late in the hand. |

(he seemed sane) [/ QUOTE ] You seem better off not knowing he had a flopped set since your line of play would have led you to make an incorrect turn fold. It's not enough to have correct information. You have to know what to do with it. |

Re: At what point should I have gotten out of this AA hand?
So with those implied odds it's correct to call to hit my Ace out? (or maybe even more outs if he didn't have a set, but say, 2 pair)
What I didn't like about this hand was that I was trapped on the river calling a bet and a raise, it just didn't feel right. |
