Default 15/30 PP Hand

Party Poker 15/30 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $15.
UTG raises, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls, 1 fold, CO (poster) calls, 2 folds, BB calls.

Flop: (10.66 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
BB checks, UTG bets, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls, CO folds, BB folds.

Turn: (6.33 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG calls.

River: (10.33 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 12.33 BB

Results in white below:
UTG has 2s 2c (two pair, nines and twos).
Hero has Ah Qh (one pair, nines).
Outcome: UTG wins 12.33 BB.

Party Poker 15/30, I don't have PokerTracker so no stats available. Preflop cold-call, and flop call are pretty standard. Heads-up on the turn I raised to try and fold AK, and AQ.. assuming my opponent was rational. Guess not, I suppose this illustrates the importance of PokerTracker/Playerview.

never try to bluff out a hand when you have moderate showdown value. noone on pp will ever fold a pair or AK. if you want to spend 2BBs, spend them calling down. i also like 3betting pf

Hi Stone, in this instance I felt like AQ was too weak to call down as the only realistic hand I could beat was AJ. Just calling the turn and folding to a river blank was an option I guess but I felt like the time was right for a bit of a fancy play.

well, he had the second best hand you could have hoped for, and AK is equivalent to 22 in what hands it beats, yet he still called you down.

why did you bet the river?

if he called the turn raise, he's never ever ever going to fold a hand you beat. he might call with AJ/KQ but he'll fold every other hand your ahead of.

It just seems like there's no value in better there at all.

I thought AQs was one of the few times cold calling was ok. And here looks like a good spot for it. No?

I think raising the flop is much better than raising the turn. Make sure to fold CO, and you can also take a freecard on the turn. Also if he 3bets you can be pretty sure your behind and then don't have to pay off on later streets.

The hand progressed the exactly the same until the turn, where you are raised. Whats your line for the rest of the hand?
