I can see how someone may disagree with my opinion of Cool Hand Luke deserving a spot on this list. You writing off the movies as bad completely baffles me.

It's a love story about two loosers and their dreams. If you can't accept the loosers, you can't accept the film. Regardless, it is an interesting period piece of New York, especially the Andy Warhol party.

I liked them all and had a varying share of contempt for them all too.

And for best thing he ever did, Tuco running through the graveyard in GB&U was my favorite. It was his whole take on the human endeavor wrapped up into one incredibly simple yet visually and metaphorically brilliant and moving scene.

Battleship Potemkin was genius. Grand Illusion was the choice I picked, because of the generosity of its spirit, the acuity of its social understanding, and the importance and resonance of its theme.

Final vote goes to Citizen Kane because it embodies the essence of so many great films.

I love it when people spout crap like this. Which of your film profs are you quoting with this garbage?

I like The Tenant, and Rosemary's Baby. Repulsion was cool though.

I agree. "La Grande Illusion" is truly a feel good movie without the sappiness of that cliche. "La Regle du Jeux" is Mozart on film to me. The conclusion is a prelude to WWII as well.

And I ran up and down the Odessa steps countless times on my summer holiday this year. I wanted to find a baby carriage and do my personal re-creation on digital.

Couldn't possibly be more wrong. I'm amazed anyone could even have written the post you responded to, much less agreed with it.

Time to take your sarcasm detector to the shop. CHL is my favorite movie.
