Default wheel of fortune

I was at a casino two nights ago and someone hit the $1.00 Wheel of Fortune for over one million dollars. I can't tell you how amazing it was to see those symbols lined up right there in front of everyone.
However, seeing it like that, in real life, has been haunting me: I don't know if it makes it seem easier to win it, or more impossible. Either way, someone won a million dollars only a few feet from where we all stood.
Gambling is unreal, at times.

Sorry, I don't know about the wheel of fortune. What does hitting a $1 mean?

It means that it was the dollar machine, as opposed to the quarter machine. In other words, the player had to play three dollars at a time in be eligible for the huge win, which they were lucky enough to hit. You just never see that happen.

I was trying to figure out how high the jackpot would need to be to take a shot at it.

I was at the stardust and they had the wheel of fortune over 9,300,000! I had to play $3 for my shot. It didn't work. I didn't play again.

Every time I am in Vegas, I put $10 into the MegaBucks machine...I've never hit for even $1 back, but I feel compelled to take a shot at the millions...it's just like playing the lottery.

Then I get down to business and play some poker.

most of the time when you read about someone who hits it, they say, "I only put twenty dollars in it!" So I'll often do the same thing, I'll put twenty dollar in either a dollar or a quarter machine. I have made a few thousand on triple jackpots, but never hit the 3 wheel of fortune symbols. It happens sometimes though - as I saw the other night!
