Raise preflop and the hand plays differently
Other than that, check-fold the flop and dont bet the turn. The pot is too small

Yuck.

Raise preflop, it doesn't matter the table.

Betting the turn is correctly. Folding the turn isn't. UTG+1 has a pair and a flush draw yippie.
BB has a pair of 9s, yippie.

Why is it correct to bet middle pair into 7 (players) on a 3.5BB pot?

Because you have the best hand and no one will call you because it's 3.5 BBs. BUT, if you let them all get to the river for free, you are likely to get beat.

Just played this

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is CO with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG (poster) checks, 1 fold, Hero raises, 2 folds, BB calls, UTG calls.

Flop: (6.50 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, BB calls, UTG calls.

Turn: (4.75 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, BB calls, UTG calls.

River: (7.75 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 7.75 BB

Results:
BB has Jc Ac (one pair, jacks).
UTG has As Ts (high card, ace).
Hero has Th Td (one pair, tens).
Outcome: BB wins 7.75 BB.

How often do you think that at least one out of seven people call down with a weak Q just to make the call profitable?

You played this hand fine.

This is a totally different hand.

I don't know what question goes to, your first hand or second. Nor do I really understand your question.
