Default KK, rough board

party 2k NL

i have 2k and its my second rotation.

utg is a huge crazy lag. dont really know what cards he's holding, as sometimes he raises the small ones and limps the big ones, and vise versa.

he is over aggro. on average though, and can be trapped for some chips.

its 6-7 handed and he minraises utg, i have no idea what that means.

MP who is clearly taking a shot, bought in for $300, and I doubled him up pf with my AK vs his KK. he is now up to $1k before this hand.

so anyways. utg minraises, MP calls, and i make it $200 on the button with red KK.

both call.

flop: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

utg checks, MP moves in for $780.

whats my play? is it close?

thanks

i get it in there.

had MP flopped a set he would have probably checked behing UTG to you, hoping you would bet, and trap UTG for more chips and then get it in there.

MP also obviously isn't holding AA after the preflop action.

So you are only worried about UTG being very coy with AA (min-raising, then calling your re-raise hoping to trap, not expecting MP to come along)...or UTG flopping a set on you.

also the random chances he is gambling it up and flopped a ragged two pair or straight, but that isn't as likely.

so i guess i move in behind and if UTG calls, yell F and hope i suck out.

Man, I hate this spot with the guy behind you. Push and hope he folds. I don't think this is close as the pot is too big and the stacks aren't deep.

I had this same situation w/ JJ before and I actually folded and the guy behind me had flopped trip QQQ, but I had the short stack beat, which was my read - but couldn't call because of the big tight stack behind me.

This is a crappy spot - utg has you covered?

I'd flip a coin on this one - my gut tells me I'm in a bad spot and should fold but I'd probably still press the call button.

The guy I'm worried about is UTG. From your description of him, he could have flopped a set, two pair or a straight on this board.

I think MP is going to show you a flush draw or 88/1010/JJ/QQ almost every time here. It takes a special player 'taking a shot' to push into the preflop reraiser w/ a flopped set.

I push. If UTG calls, I puke. If you and UTG were a lot deeper, I might consider folding. But not here.

Hope it worked out.
